Churro Waffles

Wow!  This recipe is really good!  I could only eat one! Ours weren't covered in the cinnamon and sugar mixture as pretty as the original recipe showed, but they sure were good!!

As always, we use two waffle irons at a time when we make waffles!  Who wants to wait around to eat?!?!?!?

Churro Waffle Recipe
Recipe from HERE
Makes about 10 waffles depending on the size/shape of waffle maker you use
2 teaspoon salt
8 teaspoons baking powder

3 cups warm milk

2/3 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 tsp. of cinnamon

For the churro topping-
1 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup of melted butter

Directions

1.  In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; set aside. Also at this time you can combine your churro topping and set it aside. Preheat waffle iron

2.In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; Next fold in three shakes of cinnamon beat until blended

3. At this time you can also melt your 1/2 cup of butter used to pour over waffles. Next generously spray your waffle iron with no stick cooking spray. Than ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp.

4.Once fully cooked immediately use a pastry brush and brush melted butter on one side of waffle then dip in churro mixture, while in churro mixture brush melted butter on the side that is up and then dip that in the cinnamon/sugar churro mixture.

4. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

before covering with sugar and cinnamon!
